book review - Jane and Prudence by Barbara Pym

Jane and PrudenceJane and Prudence by Barbara Pym
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pym - where have you been all my reading life? This book was a true delight. Jane and Prudence met at Oxford; the two are about 9 years apart in age and exhibit different lifestyles for the reader to delve into and dance back and forth. Jane is married to a clergyman and lives in a village while Prudence, the younger, is single and works in an office in London. This story reads timeless and I loved these women, perhaps siding in Jane's corner a bit more sometimes. Fascinating to see each's perspectives on single and married life - a wonderful novel!! I look forward to more Pym books.
