Makes 2+ dozen, depending on size cookies (I always double the batch!)
1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick (4oz) unsalted butter, room temperature best
1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degreese F.
Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a standing mixer, cream butter and sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and combine but don't overmix.
Add chocolate chips.
Scoop in desired size onto prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Cool before removing from wire racks.
