yarn & onion rings

A brand new year! 2017. Amazing, this time thing. I haven't posted here in too long. Anyone still reading? Drop me a note in the comments and let me know what you've been up to. I aim to be more regular on the blog again as I've missed blogging very much. For a New Year's Day cast on, I had picked the Cozy Shlanket MKAL design by Mina Philip, so on New Year's Eve, I scooted over the my LYS and picked out these lovelies: Brooklyn Tweed Shelter 'Worsted' in colorways (left to right): Fossil Postcard Homemade Jam I managed to complete Clue No 1 by midnight yesterday and I'm giddy over how it is working up. It was a rainy morning here so the picture doesn't show the yarn's beauty ... trust me ... swoonworthy! Clue No 2 released on Sunday, so I'm ready. Tonight we had burgers and I fixed oven baked onion rings to accompany the simple menu. They were very simple and very tasty. I'll surely make them again.

Banana Muffins RECIPE - a repost from February 2018

This is the best recipe for Banana Muffins. They're that good that they deserve to be capitalized and a blog post all to themselves. The recipe is about 40 some years old. These muffins are as a part of my childhood as Judy Blume books and Bonne Bell scented lip balms! My maternal great grandmother doubled the batch whenever we'd visit in North Carolina and oh, I can still see the Currier and Ives tin filled to the lid with them. Mama had red velvet stools which my grandmother still has but they've been reupholstered long ago. I was small enough to sit on one of these stools at her marble top coffee table watching shows like Hee Haw and Lawrence Welk, all the while eating my delicious muffin, or two, set on a special plate with a fork {that made it last longer} and drinking ice cold milk. Mmmmm, yeah. I've tried several banana muffin and bread recipes through the years but this one is always my favorite one for muffins and is truly my most cherished recipe.

Book Review / THE COWORKER by Freida McFadden

The Coworker by Freida McFadden My rating: 2 of 5 stars THE COWORKER is about two women who work in a vitamin supplement company and one doesn't show up to work one morning which makes the other suspicious since she's meticulous about being ontime. The reader finds out there's been a crime and then it's the big dash to find out what happened, all the while we learn more about these women and the somewhat of the office goings on. The detective didn't seem believeable, the crime scene and reveal wasn't realistic and there were bits that were far fetched and the ending ... ridiculous. Don't insult your readers, Ms. McFadden. This could've had good potential but the bullying element was too much. Plus one coworker seems autistic and it felt like that was pushed as a negative from the getgo. Disappointing read.
