Valentines

With it's lovestruck verse, heart motifs, cheerful colors, and whimsical affection all over the sampler - I think Jane Austen and Me, the Emma Project is the most Valentine-y of all my designs.

When I was in the first grade, our teacher had us decorate brown paper bags using crayons, paper doilies, and heart stickers. Once these masterpieces were done, we then affixed them with tape to the front of our desks and Voila!, they were our Valentine mailboxes! During lunchtime, we dropped Valentines into each other's bags to take home and open later. Funny, but I remember the art of this simple, little project more than the opening of all cards. Perhaps that's the maker in me at heart.

This sampler reminds me of a Valentine as it gives an embrace to the heart with sentiment and picture - it exudes happiness, gives all the warm feelings, and even makes you smile. {You need to supply the chocolate.}

Happy Valentine's Day. xx
