I am so excited to share this NEW shawl design of mine with you. It's now available for purchase on The Sampler Girl Studio website as well as on Ravelry. Design is called LAND OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN SHAWL and finds its inspiration from a trip to Oslo, Norway, that I took as a teenager with my Mom.
Since Norway's northern part is above the Arctic Circle, the sun shines 24 hours a day during mid-May through mid-July. At bedtime in the hotel, we would close the heavy, dark curtains to out the sunlight to sleep.
Shawl is worked in Aran/Heavy worsted weight yarns using knitting needles size US 7. Knits and purls and eyelets make this a simple, lovely triangular shawl. It's a fast knit and surely a sweet addition to the wintry shawl rotation.
